Peter is the founder and Director of Audio Visual People which was formed in 2005. Peter is a plastics engineer by trade which migrated to a Head Technician role at the Great Lake Centre in Taupo before setting up his own business specialising in big screen rentals. The need to expand into audio became apparent due to the heavy demand for sound systems relating to sporting events around Taupo. The work Peter has put into his company has resulted in a large database of cliental in multiple areas growing to the wider coverage of most of New Zealand. Over the past 5 years Peter has grown the company to be able to deal with a vast scale of events from Sporting events right up to 12,000 pax concerts.
Sandra is the co-owner with Peter and takes care of all things financial for AVP with a background in accounts having worked for local restaurants while raising the Clapperton family in their earlier years. Sandra has her eye on the ball when it comes to looking after the company and is constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the company.
Dylan is our General Manager who has been working in the industry professionally since the age of 16 starting his career at the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland as the lead technician. Dylan is all things technical specialising in live audio. He has mastered his skillset with having the pleasure to work with a vast range of both local and international artists. Dylan can also work his way around lighting, video, digital screens and projection. Dylan loves the challenge of bringing all the departments of Audio Visual People together to execute a job correctly.
Jack is our Operations Manager, he also joined us from Auckland leaving the Bruce Mason Centre in his shadows moving to Taupo to work on his skillset in the Audio field. Jack has joined Jonty in the broadcast field managing all the live audio requirements for our broadcasts while also juggling the series of Live concert work, we do throughout the year. Jack has very quickly climbed the ladder at AVP to join Dylan in the management role where he manages both the staff and the day to day events. Jack is responsible for making sure all AVP equipment leaves and returns and is kept at a high standard.
Shaun is one of our senior technicians. Shaun has been with the company for 6 years now. He started his career as a video, IT technician but soon developed a passion for audio particularly in the theatre industry. He has worked on his skills into a lead audio role at AVP, working in Live, Corporate, Theatrical and Studio environments. Shaun is a very hands-on technician having his fingers in multiple pies, whether it is working with LED Screens, Corporate AV or even operating lighting, he can get most things done.
Jayden is the youngest addition to the AVP family having walked into our office looking for a job in the industry straight out of high school. Jayden has quickly proven himself to be a valuable asset to the team by accepting each challenge as it comes along and always working with a cheery disposition and big smile on his face. This is one kid who loves his job! He has developed a love for both Lighting and our LED Wall’s. He has very quickly become a very skilled technician.
Jonty is our newest addition to our AVP family. Jonty joined us in Taupo from the mighty Hawkes Bay where he worked during high school for a smaller Audio company and an IT firm dealing with website and server infrastructures. He went on to leave high school to go study Entertainment and Event Technology at Mainz in Christchurch. Jonty moved to AVP to help grow his passion in the AV field where he has very quickly escalated to managing all our live broadcasts.
